Prenatal Yoga

These privileged sessions offer a warm and enveloping environment where you can intimately and meaningfully connect with your body and baby. As a mother of three children born naturally at home, with yoga and somatics as my primary mode of preparation, I bring a wealth of personal experience and profound insights to these sessions. The birth of my children remains the most beautiful and poignant initiation of my life, and it is this depth of experience that informs and nourishes my guidance. My teaching continues to evolve, infused with the depth and wisdom of time, discernment, and refinement.

Having guided hundreds of women to experience a more sacred and harmonious pregnancy, I am dedicated to setting you in good stead for an optimal birth and maternity journey. I have spent countless hours researching and practicing in the realm of pregnancy and birth, considering these to be holy thresholds in a woman's life. I remain attentive to the immense transformations taking place on every level of your being, honouring the importance of taking time to care for your body and soul in metamorphosis.

In these sessions, you will find a sacred space to leave your preoccupations at the door and enter a realm of profound transformation and a vast palette of experiences. You will learn to build your capacity to hold a wide range of sensations, emotions, and impressions, expanding your receptivity, availability, and discernment. This framework supports the full breadth of your capacities, facilitating a supportive pregnancy, an optimal birth experience, and a conscious initiation into motherhood.

Our prenatal yoga and embodiment practices focus on activating the flow of energy within your body's contours and spaces, enhancing the quality of breath, and deepening the intimate connection between mother and child. Through the postures, exercises, and movements, you will cultivate resilience, strength, suppleness, and adaptability. Your body will be nourished and awakened, your senses soothed and nurtured, with ample time for deep rest and resourcement. The emphasis in prenatal yoga lies not in the outer form but in the quality of presence and listening within the form, awakening a new level of attention and sensibility.

These sessions can also be held with your partner to prepare both of you for an optimal birth experience.

  • Alexandra offered varied postures and exercises as well as real practical anatomical information that allowed me to prepare the way for the birth of my baby physically, mentally and emotionally. But the most valuable aspect of my yoga classes with Alexandra was her presence of being. She fully embodied what she was teaching and every class was also a transmission of sorts-yoga in its highest form. Just being around her graceful movements, soft and nurturing voice and kind smile allowed me to find my own grace, experience my own softness and touch deeply into my center of being. It was from this place that I went on to birth my daughter at home just as I had hoped.
